We at Anago get it – commercial cleaning isn’t the most exciting thing in the world. It’s important. It keeps people healthy. It keeps our offices and workplaces clean. Not everyone’s idea of a good time.

But occasionally, it can be pretty cool.

During the summer, people love to go to concerts in the warmth of the sun, or take in a show to get out of the hot sun during the scorching temps of July or August. One of our Franchises cleans the Hippodrome, a beautiful 2,300 seat theater in Baltimore. Built in 1914, the Hippodrome awes crowds through its history and beauty.

Just last month, an Anago Unit Franchisee had the responsibility for cleaning the theater during a one-month run of the hottest ticket in America – the Broadway show “Hamilton.” Susan Cashman, the owner of the Anago Baltimore Master Franchise discussed what her Unit Franchisee goes through during a show to keep the Hippodrome spotless.

“We have porters during the show and another team that comes in and cleans the building after the show. It’s exciting to be part of their community.  Being a part of Hamilton is exciting, but truthfully, the Hippodrome allows us to be a tiny part of so many great cultural and entertainment experiences.”

But does it ever get crazy?

“On the weekend when there are two shows per day, then it really gets crazy.  In between shows, we have to turn over the auditorium in about an hour. Some children’s performances have canons that fire confetti which, of course, adds to the task at hand. While the shows are running we may work 80 hours a day.”
