As an Anago Master Franchisee, you do not clean; instead you build your empire. You will never run out of franchises to sell or buildings that need cleaning in this recession-resistant industry!

In this Success Story Interview, Anago Cleaning Systems President Adam Povlitz tells us about following in his father’s footsteps and leading the company. Read on to find out more about Anago’s exciting Master Franchise opportunity!

Can you tell us a little about the history of Anago and the part you play in the franchise?

Anago was founded in 1989 by my father, David Povlitz, after owning and operating a commercial cleaning business in Detroit, Michigan for 15 years. He moved to South Florida, perfected the systems he created, and Anago was born. The name Anago is derived from the Greek-Latin term “anagogue,” meaning to guide or uplift. Anago was founded with that principle – to guide and uplift the lives of our Master and Unit Franchisees to achieve success.

I started at Anago Cleaning Systems in 2009 and have been the President now, for almost 2 years.

Why should prospective Master Franchise Owners be excited about an Anago Master Franchise?

More millionaires are made through master franchising than any other form of franchising! Unlike other franchise models, where multiple units are necessary to build a very successful business, all it takes is ONE Anago Master Franchise. This is an empire building franchise with residual income and unlimited growth potential. The Anago Master Owner will never run out of franchises to sell or buildings to clean!

What does the training look like for an Anago Master Franchise Owner?

Anago has the most comprehensive training program in the industry, with over 150 years of combined experience among our executive team. Starting with site development, where we assist the Master in locating office space, and coordinating their lease. Training starts at our corporate office in South Florida, with initial instruction on every aspect of the business, from franchise sales to customer service, and how to use our cloud based software to track every bit of it. This is followed by numerous site visits from our Field Training Team during the Master’s first few years of operation. We also provide the Master with access to AnagoUniversity™, a comprehensive e-learning library with over 60 training videos. We are committed to getting the Masters up and running as quickly as possible.

Are there specific demographics an Anago Master Franchise is best suited for?

Anago Master Franchise territories are determined by county lines and are typically located in a major metropolitan area, with a minimum population base of approximately 500,000 – 1 million+ people.

Tell us about the day-to-day experiences a Master Franchise Owner can expect while running an Anago Master Franchise.

An Anago Master Franchise Owner is not in the cleaning business – they are an executive in the franchising business. For the most part, it’s a Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm schedule. The Master will be building and mentoring their team of employees to support their Unit Franchisees, and developing their client base through sales and marketing efforts. The Master Owner will be networking with other business owners in their territory to create local market awareness for their services.

What are some trends to keep an eye out for within your industry segment?

The industry is moving more toward technology, and Anago has certainly been at the forefront of this movement. We have proprietary cloud based software to manage all aspects of the business, and our own proprietary Anago App for bidding and estimating, as well as customer service. Green cleaning is also very important. As more and more business owners and managers seek to minimize their company’s environmental impact, the use of less water, less paper, and environmentally friendly cleaning solutions is crucial.

What are the most important traits Anago looks for in prospective Master Franchisees?

Strong sales, marketing, and management skills. An achiever-type personality. A strong desire to build an empire in their Master Franchise territory. The ability to recruit, direct, and manage highly motivated sales personnel.

How long does the startup process typically take?

From signing of the franchise agreement to opening, the typical timeframe is approximately 60-90 days.

What’s the biggest mistake you see from your incoming Master Franchise Owners? How can it be avoided?

Sometimes, new Anago Master Owners don’t take the time to truly implement every aspect of our system. With over 25 years of franchising experience in the commercial cleaning industry, we have a complete, proven, and sustainable system in place. That system is supplemented by the support of every employee at our Corporate office. An Anago Master Owner just has to follow the system as it was designed, and it will lead them to the success they desire.

What’s next for Anago in terms of expansion?

Anago has lots of available Master Franchise territories in the U.S. and Canada. We are aggressively pursuing expansion into those areas. With the lowest franchise fee in our industry, we are confident our goals of awarding all remaining North American territories will be reached in the near future.
