Eden Prairie natives Susan and Doug Boonstra are popularly known around the community for their dedication to Eden Prairie schools and athletics. Doug Boonstra is not only a physics teacher at the high school, but a Nordic skiing coach that led Eden Prairie to a state title this past year. The happy couple is now immersing themselves into the business world through Anago cleaning systems.
The name “Anago” is derived from the Greek-Latin term “anagoge,” meaning to guide or uplift. David Povlitz opened Anago cleaning systems in 1989 with the goal of “lifting up” his Franchise Owners and helping them achieve financial freedom and security, as they provide superior service to clients. Since opening, the company has developed over 30 master territories across the U.S. and internationally and over 2,400 unit franchises. Anago was recently named the 10th Fastest Growing Franchise in the U.S. by Entrepreneur Magazine, according to a news release.
Recently, “Susan and Doug were awarded the master franchise for Minneapolis/St. Paul because they exhibit three of the most important characteristics we seek in a master franchisee: integrity, knowledge and energy,” explained Judy Walker, director of Marketing at Anago Corporate, via email.
Starting on July 1, Susan and Doug had finished four weeks of intensive training and been” champing at the bit to get started. “However being master owners does not mean they are the ones cleaning.” As a master owner of Anago, our first job is to sell franchises to people who are interested in starting their own commercial cleaning business. Our second job is getting them clients, or office spaces to clean, so they don’t have to worry about that aspect of business, they can just focus on doing the cleaning,” they said.
However, the cleaning was not what Susan and Doug were aiming to do anyway. “One of the main motivating reasons for getting involved in this business was helping people get into business for themselves. Instead of them working for someone else, they can own and run their own business.”
Therefore, as Susan and Doug focus on expanding the franchise, businesses can expect spotless offices. “If a customer were to choose Anago to provide the cleaning for their facility, they can expect attention to detail, a competitive bid that will be customized to their specific facility needs, and a calendarized work schedule so they will know what to expect in their cleaning service on a daily or weekly basis.” Contact the Boonstras for more information at (952) 217-5941, susan@anagotwincities.com, douglas@anagotwincities.com or www.anagotwincities.com.
